Signal Repair & E48-32 Permanent Fix
From R499
We permanently fix E48-32, E143-4, E48, and pixellating in older Parkmore, Atholl, Sandown, Randburg, Bryanston homes. Root cause is usually not the dish but cracked white RG6 2008-2012 with thin shielding that cracks after 10+ years sun, green corrosion on copper, water tracks into LNB, loose twist-on F-connectors, tree blocking 68.5°E. We test LNB current draw, replace cable with black UV-rated SABS dual-shield RG6, replace connectors with compression type crimped with tool not pliers, dry and seal LNB with self-amalgamating tape and silicone on entry points, realign dish to 90% locked with MER 14.2 dB. We test end-to-end continuity and push MER to 14.2 dB peak 90% locked. We don’t just reboot decoder – we fix physical cause and warranty it 12 months. Temporary re-pointing without recable fails again after first rain.
Common in: Parkmore 11th/12th Avenue, Atholl Homestead Road, Sandown, Bryanston Grosvenor Road – houses built 2004-2011 white RG6 sun-cracked.
Explora & Smart LNB Installation – XtraView Triple View
From R649
Homes run 2-3 Exploras for multi-view – main house, cottage, entertainment pavilion. That needs correct SCD2 Smart LNB with enough user bands (up to 24) and proper Unicable configuration. We install and program Inverto SCD2 Smart LNBs 24UB, set correct UB frequencies on each Explora (e.g., 1210 MHz, 1420 MHz, 1680 MHz, 2040 MHz), link XtraView via Heartbeat cable or via RF, connect to Wi-Fi for Showmax, BoxOffice, and Catch-Up. In large estates like Sandhurst Coronation Road, Morningside Stella Street we run dedicated homeruns so cottage viewing doesn’t drain main signal. 12-month warranty on LNB. We carry Explora Ultra decoders, SCD2 LNBs, and configure everything including DStv app linking to phone. For Sandhurst entertainment areas we also run HDMI over CAT6 so 4K Explora in AV rack feeds TV over 20m without loss. All tested to 90% locked and we stay until all three TVs stream correctly.
Includes: Commercial SCD2 LNB + UB programming + triple Explora test + heartbeat + Wi-Fi Showmax + meter report.
Communal System Repair – Apartments 50-100 Units Down
From R1499 per building
Specialist service for Sandton Central, Katherine Street, Alice Lane, 5th Street, Daisy Street, Rivonia Road, Rosebank, Hyde Park high-rises where one dish feeds 50-100 apartments. When facilities report mass outage, we test on roof: SCD2 LNB output with spectrum analyzer, power inserter voltage under load, dSCR multiswitch diagnostics, and signal at riser per floor. We carry 24-output dSCR switches, commercial Inverto SCD2 24UB programmable LNBs, and replacement power supplies. We rebalance to avoid over-voltage on lower floors and weak signal on top, label every user band port so facilities managers can isolate faults fast, reprogram user bands to avoid clashes between floors, replace burnt power inserter, and verify Explora lock in at least 3 units per floor (floors 2,10,20) before signing off with building manager. Installing normal universal single LNB won’t fix it because Exploras need user bands. Prevents 50-100 units being down for 3 days due to one faulty component.
Emergency response 30-min for mass outage Alice Lane, 5th Street, Katherine Street.
Extra TV Points & Cottage Links 40-120m
From R599
Large properties in Morningside (Outspan Road), Sandhurst (Coronation Road), Bryanston, Sunninghill, Waterfall, Dainfern, Kyalami have cottages, staff rooms, entertainment pavilions 40-120m from main house. Running standard splitter kills signal – signal loss over 100m RG6 is 12-14 dB enough to drop MER below threshold. We install correct solution: either dedicated port from SCD2 Smart LNB with CT100 triple-shielded low-loss cable and active inline amplification rated for satellite IF up to 2150 MHz at 70m point, or for runs over 90m we use fibre-to-coax converter (fibre has 0 loss), or RF extender for independent viewing. We calculate link budget, take dedicated user band port from SCD2 on roof so cottage has independent frequency – no conflict with main house. Cable is trenched 200mm deep in conduit or clipped along wall with black UV clips, waterproofed at entry. At cottage we terminate with compression connector and test far-end MER – we guarantee 13.5 dB+ and 90% peak locked even at 100m, with separate Explora working in XtraView or independent mode.
Includes: CT100 / fibre + amp + dedicated UB port + neat clipping/trenching + far-end test MER 13.5 dB+ guaranteed.
Dish Realignment After Highveld Wind – August-October
From R499
August-October winds on Sandton ridge shift light 60cm dishes on thin L-brackets. Symptoms: signal drops at 6pm, returns at night, E48-32 during wind, pixelation evening. Sandton sits on ridge – open properties along William Nicol, Daisy Street, Mushroom Farm Park catch relentless wind – light 60cm dishes on single L-brackets twist 2-3 degrees enough to drop PEAK 90% to 45%. We realign to IS20 68.5°E with professional Promax meter to exactly 90% peak, MER 14.2 dB, replace light L-bracket with heavy-gauge T-bracket + K-bracket, 4x 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors into solid brick not plaster, plus wall plate if needed, 80cm solid steel dish upgrade (not perforated), apply dish-lock compound on bolts, wind tie to wall. We also check for jacaranda and plane tree growth on Stella Street and Kelvin Drive blocking line-of-sight and recommend pole mount 3.5m high with concrete base if needed. This mount survives Sandton August winds, stays 90% locked.
Includes: Promax realignment + heavy T-bracket + 4x anchors + 80cm dish + dish-lock + wind tie.
OVHD & Combo Installations – DSTV + OpenView One Dish
From R749
Many staff quarters and backyard rooms use OpenView HD (OVHD) on 36°E or want DSTV + OVHD on one dish. We install combo setups: 80cm dish with dual LNB bracket holding SCD2 Smart LNB for IS20 68.5°E and universal 5150 for E36 36°E, DiSEqC switch, and single cable to decoder with proper satellite setup. Perfect for cottages in Bryanston and Morningside where main house has DSTV but cottage wants free OVHD. Aligned to peak on both sats and tested with meter to 85%+ on both. For cottages or combined viewing on one dish. Dual-LNB bracket, DiSEqC, alignment to both IS20 68.5°E and E36 36°E, TV bracket mount up to 65″ with hidden cabling and HDMI over CAT6 if needed for entertainment rooms in Morningside and Rosebank.

TV Mounting & Cabling Cleanup – Luxury Homes
From R749

We also clean old messy installs in Sandton townhouse complexes: remove dead white RG6, reuse existing conduits, and re-route for Explora in bedroom and lounge with neat faceplates. TV bracket rated to 65″ safely secured to wall studs, DSTV cable hidden, signal maintained at 90% locked. For Sandhurst entertainment areas we run HDMI over CAT6 so 4K Explora in AV rack feeds TV over 20m.
